December 2019 The Show sponsors a tree at the St. Mary's Christmas Tree Festival.
The committee thanks those members who came up with the ideas and decorated the tree. Images of the show Christmas Tree can be found in the "Trees" section of the gallery page.
12th November 2019 The Show AGM was held at St. Mary's Church. Please click here for a brief summary of the AGM.
Sunday 8th September 2019 Thanks to everyone who exhibited and those who attended the Show and congratulations to the winners. Photos from the Show and Best In Section exhibits can be found on the 2019 Show and 2019 best in section pages.
The committee was pleased to see many new entrants and entrants returning after a gap of a few years, some of whom won prizes - well done!
Vegetable entries were a bit lower than last year but there was an increase in the number of flowers exhibited including the roses and dahlias sections. And good to see that the numbers of entries in the other sections were similar to last year.
A note for vegetable growers. The Alençon Cup is awarded to the winner of class 2 (3 types of vegetables in a box). This year there were no entries, so find a box, put some vegatables in it, display it in class 2 and you could win a cup next year. See the schedule for details.
And finally, don't forget our AGM on Tuesday 12th November. See the AGM page for details.
June 2019 - Carnival Day. Thanks to everyone who braved the weather and visited our stall at this year's carnival. We were pleased to welcome the visitors who came to buy plants or have a go on the tombola. We hope some of the plants that you purchased have will bear fruit so you can enter them in one of the many horticultural classes in the show.
June 2019 - Bea Preston. The Committee was saddened to hear of the death of our former committee member and treasurer Bea Preston. Bea joined the committee in 1983, served as treasurer for 20 years, then remained on the committee, retiring at the end of 2011. The present committee plans to include a further information on Bea’s contribution to the Show in the next Parish Newsletter.
